We were in Owensboro to eat dinner at Moonlight BBQ and we had some time to kill. So we looked on TripAdvisor to see what was around close. The tree is very impressive. You have to park and go up to it to really appreciate...More

Where I come from sassafras trees are usually small shrubs that grow on the side of the road or hillside. It is rare to see a tree more than a few inches in diameter. But this is one BIG sassafras tree. In many parts of...More

I have never seen such a massive tree. If your in the area you must stop by and see it. The locals are very proud of it as they should be. It is located in the yard of EM Ford Company.

I love this old tree. It's great to photograph with a wide angle lens up into it's branches. Shows what an amazing old tree it is.

It's not hard to find and there's never a crowd. There really isn't much to do around it. It's just a big tree.

There are no concessions or rides here just a plaque recognizing the tree. Steps from the local library and easily accessible from a main road.
