Statue of young Abe Lincoln is very impressive. Large boards tell the story of his time in Louisville. Several folks were riding bikes on the paths. Family swings are fun. We sat in the amphitheater for awhile just watching the river.

Walked from our hotel, The Brown for a Sunday afternoon. Stopped at shops and KFC store for a picture with the man himself.

Kind of a perfect Sunday afternoon outing, with appetizers at Joe's Crab Shack, followed by a stroll across the Big Four Bridge and back. There was a festive feel to the crowd on the bridge with us.

This park is as welcoming and congenial as the city itself. Historic and land set aside for citizens to enjoy.

I walked down the waterfront to the pedestrian bridge that crosses over to Indiana. It was so very pleasant. There were families and others walking. I never felt alone or afraid. Wonderful walking venue.

Waterfront Park was home to the Ironman competition. The entire area is beautiful with that wonderful river front view. There is a play area for kids and don't miss the view from the bridge. You can see for miles and miles.

We liked the stroll around The Abe Lincoln statue, seeing the watercraft on the river, and watching the workmen finishing the gorgeous new bridge.

Are there restaurants within walking distance with dog friendly outdoor seating?

There are a couple of restaurants. Joe's Crab shack comes to mind. But I don't believe there is outdoor seating and dog friendly. If you go up a few blocks off of the river, there are up around Main street.
