Very nice park, playground for the kids, and a nice path for walking for bike riding. Places for picnics and to hang out. Walking distance of downtown.

Louisville has done a good job of reclaiming the waterfront as park. Our favorite part was the bird sculpture garden!

I highly recommend visiting the Louisville Waterfront Park while in the area! There are playgrounds, skateboarding, waterfalls, history, entertainment, and a gorgeous view of the Ohio River. Don't miss out on a walk across the Big 4 Bridge while here.

We walked to the park from our 4th street hotel. The walk was nice and the park is very pretty with a walkway along the river.

There are a couple of restaurants. Joe's Crab shack comes to mind. But I don't believe there is outdoor seating and dog friendly. If you go up a few blocks off of the river, there are up around Main street.
