This is a beautiful scenic city park with plenty of spots for get-togethers or picnics or just some outdoor walking for fresh air. The pavilion at Hogan's Fountain is really starting to show its age and could use a little TLC to clean it up....More

Wonderful green space, great trails, and proximity to the Cherokee Triangle make this my favorite Louisville park.

Cherokee Park was in full bloom during our visit. Trees full and flowers bright as we enjoyed the on/off pavement trails. The park was alive with activity and energy. A beautiful and easily accessible resource in the middle of Louisville.

Designed by Fredrick Olms of Central Park fame, this city oasis has it all. Walk, hiking, biking, golf and just hanging out. A fair weather magnet

An Olmstead Park, you will not be disappointed by a visit to Cherokee Park. It sits in the Highlands neighborhood, and has a large, wide pedestrian and cyclist-only paved loop. My favorite time to go is in the autumn, when the leaves are changing color....More

Until recently construction has blocked off much of the area. Fortunately, you can now cruise the park without obstacles. This is probably the prettiest of the Frederick Law Olmsted parks designed by him(17 total in Louisville). It's great for jogging, walking your dog or picnicking....More

Cherokee Park was conveniently located a few blocks from our lodging in Louisville. We took a fun walk 3 different days along some of the 30+ miles of trail. It is a very peaceful and hiker/jogger friendly park. Some of the trails are paved, many...More

The nicest people are there, and the dogs have so much fun! There is a separate space for the little dogs and the big dogs. Can't wait to explore the park further, it is so large, wooded and just beautiful. Nice homes to look at...More

Cherokee Park is wonderful. It is well kept, beautifully designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and easily accessible. There are beautiful trails and paths. I would recommend that some trails be only for walking as it being run over by a cyclist is possible. All in...More

I didn't look for one but assume they do have them.
Hello!.. I love riding my bike but I'm in my 50's and fairly over weight so I can't really tackle bigger steeper hills very well... What's your opinion about a casual rider like me being able to handle the hills in the Cherokee park? ...I mean do you think it's better suited for serious riders who are in great shape?...Also, is there a fee to get in the park?

No fee to get in, and I am with you on the age and all, but we ride/walk and I suggest the fall to do the walk/ride. It is hilly but I suggest to drive it and pick your area, some hills are worse than others.
