Part thoroughbred race course, part sales company and considered one of America's most beautiful tracks, Keeneland is known for its well-designed and meticulous landscaping. The grounds consist of the paddock, a prep area where visitors can view horses up-close just before the race and a combination of dirt and turf race tracks.

Keeneland is Lexington at its best. Visit during the season in spring or fall. This is actually the best place to watch races in the entire US, if not the world--no where else will you encounter such sophisticated old school southern culture and racing. Don't miss it but plan ahead, the seasons are short.

We took our first trip to the Lexington area to visit some distilleries, vineyards, horses and take in the beauty that is this part of Kentucky. On our last morning there, we had the great opportunity to visit Keeneland. This was during the Breeding Stock Auction, and a 'behind the scenes' tour was offered (the first time they've done this... The best place in America to watch the horses. I go every April and October. The Burgoo is to die for, the staff is wonderful, and this time I even won some money. As always, a great time at a great track!

If you travel to Lexington, do not miss Keeneland. The best of the best thoroughbred race track - maybe in the world.

I haven't even been to Keeneland to see a race, yet I would highly recommend it! Went to see the morning workout on a trip with friends and it was lovely. The jockeys and trainers are friendly, it's cold and crisp, steam seems to magically waft from the horses' coats as they warm up in the glowing sun... If you... More

Well I guess they aren't ponies, but they were definitely prancing when we arrived. As you arrive at Keenland there is ample parking no matter how crowded they are, but you may find yourself with a moderate walk or catching the shuttle bus if you do not arrive early. The location is gorgeous, in the rolling hills outside the city... More

We stopped by Keeneland on our way out of town. What a great surprise. The lady driving the courtesy cart ended up giving us an hour private tour and taking us to the las day of the horse sale. She was so informative and the private tour was fantastic. We know absolutely nothing about horses and still thoroughly enjoy the... More

Loved Keeneland. Got to catch the horses working out in the morning as well as the sales being conducted over the week. Beautiful grounds, friendly, helpful staff.

Keeneland is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful buildings, manicured grounds, and sprawling countryside make this a must visit, even if you are not going to a race.
