A short drive from Cape May, Sunset beach is a small pebble filled beach. There was plenty of parking and a gift shop with good variety and quality items. There is a public rest room there also, but no changing into or out of bathing...More

The days when the "sunken ship" was the main draw are long gone. Cape May diamonds are virtualy all gone. But the sunset over the Delaware Bay never changes. Still a wonderful experience. A good place to go after visiting one of the Nature Preserves.

We like to get there early--lots of free parking before 10:00 a.m. Bring bug spray, because there are lots of biting flies. The gift shops have affordable tee shirts and other knick knacks.

The beach is great to play on and find Cape May Diamonds, seashells and sea glass but not so much for swimming. No Lifeguards here. There are lifeguards at designated beaches in Cape May and Cape May Point beaches.
