I have lived in Elizabethtown and the surrounding area for basically all my life, except for a few years in college. I have visited this part literally hundreds of times. I'm not sure how 'hard' it is actually marketed for tourism. It is a nice park to visit, but not really a 'destination,' to be honest. There are many ducks,... More

One of my favorite places is the Freeman Lake Park in Elizabethtown, KY. With every visit I see something new and inviting. The layout and design is far better than you will find in most small parks. Trails are many. Water is clean. The caretakers should be commended for their hard work.

Nice place for family or a good first date. Pavilions and paddle boats as well as fishing. Walking trails and nature park. Good for jogging and letting the little ones bike or run around.

Walking and bike trail around the lake is awesome. Also great place to feed the ducks and catch a summer concert. Lots of parking and plenty of areas for activities. Christmas in the park is nice for kids.

This park is a great place for many things. Picnics, tennis, frisbee, hiking, paddle-boating, geocaching, playing Poke'mon GO, or just hanging out! There is plenty of parking, nice roads and trails to transit, covered areas to gather and a great connection to our 16th President. There is even a totem pole here! Walk around, see what you see, check out... More

We've been visiting off and on for over a dozen years, and 2016 was even better. The displays on the lake just sparkle. It's always busy, but the traffic moves at a comfortable pace, and there's enough lighting that your headlights are not necessary. Have the full experience by tuning into the Christmas music as you go through, too! Other... More

Freeman lake is a wonderful stop in Elizabethtown to unwind or exercise. Central and historic, the lake can be traversed around the complete perimeter.

We visited to see the Christmas lights, and what a spectacular experience. The line into the park was moving at a slow but steady pace. Slow enough to enjoy the lights and see all the displays. We googled the directions which took us to the "Exit" gate. So, we looked at the map which showed the entry was 2 blocks... More

Every December for the past 7 years my family and I drive about an hour to come to see the park to see the Christmas lights. It's a great place to see a great display of lights from the safety and warmth of your personal vehicle. The best part is that it is free, though donations are accepted. It's well... More
