This is a lovely little gem in Elizabethtown! I believe that it is often overlooked! It is a small museum and has some odd hours, but it is free (donations only) and has a variety of interesting items in it! While it is not exactly child friendly, the workers and volunteers are wonderful with children and my kids often ask... More

Housed in an old 1930 vintage post office. A large number of interesting items with an informed staff. Lots of Early Kentucky and Elizabethtown items. A must visit if you are interested in local history. It is free but if you visit drop something in the donation box.

A wonderful, cozy place with in-depth historical and genealogical information gems, some available to copy and some to purchase. Staff are knowledgeable, supportive, and most creative in helping you to find the history you seek. Much of this information is not digitized, so visiting this museum opens your eyes to the rich, diverse history of this area that was an... More

Hardin County History Museum is a real gem. It is located in what was the Post Office when I was a girl. The displays bring back such wonderful memories, and I have learned oh, so much history that I didn't know before visiting here. The staff is wonderful. Especially Elvin Smith, Jr., a lifelong friend, who gives of his time,... More

The Harding County History Museum is very will organized having very unique, interesting, and neat displays. Admission is free, free will offering, so the price is right. Take your time and enjoy the displays, history and clean atmosphere.

We were bored and had never been, so we decided to check it out to see if our 6 year old boy would find it interesting. It was kinda cool seeing some of the old stuff but in certain parts it smelled real bad from all the old clothing I'm guessing. But older children would probably enjoy it and older... More

Took the family here while we waited for the Christmas Parade to start. The staff was not only extremely friendly, but very knowledgeable. We have a 18 year old, 14 ye old, and 4 year old and they all had a great time. To keep the little ones preoccupied they even have hidden the alphabet blocks throughout the museum and... More
