Amazing collection. Not crowded at all. Lots of history. Loretta Lynn's dresses were so neat to see.

This isva quaint museum but rich in detail and history. Loretta Lynn's exhibit includes a few gowns...one she made herself (see photos) The Cherokee story of the moon and the black couple who were friends in high school and ended up marrying later in life....More

Info and artifacts from Harlan county's coal mining past. Also small exhibits about Loretta Lynn and the Justified TV show.

The museum was informative and explained the history of Kentucky coal mining from the early 1900's. The employees were friendly and willing to answer questions.

Spend several hours exploring the several floors of the museum. There are many stories about life in the company towns and the characters that lived there.

I love the Mining Museum it has a lot of the surrounding cities history, they have a mine that you can visit, lots of train an mining equipment. moon shine steal, they told us they were going to have a lot of Justified props also........More
