We made the lunch and visit program and we loved it.
Dishes very well prepared, with excellent wines to accompany.
The enoteca is very beautiful, with pipes and very old objects.
The garden is fantastic to relax while taking a favaios.

Love this winery! A full scale experience in every way - from learning about the wine making process, the terroir, the grapes, the history of the family, tours of the historic rooms - to musical entertainment, excellent wines to drink, amazing food to eat, and stories to be told! The story of the regional wine cooperative was something completely new to me when it comes to wine production, the Adega Cooperativa de Favaios. If you have the chance to visit here, do it! We went as a shore excursion with Celebrity Cruises. The Duoro Valley is one of the most famous wine producing areas in the world and we are so happy we had the chance to explore this small portion of it.

We have recently been to this winery as part of a day tour around the Douro Valley. This 'stop' made the day. The staff were polite, friendly and had a wonderful sense of humour. Mahmood was particularly brilliant in terms of knowledge and how he explained things - he is a gift!!
The food and the whole experience was wonderful. Thank you to all involved!

This winery was great and we did have dinner here. It was part of the Duoro River Cruise and I am so glad we went! The owner Louis Boros was quite the entertainer and had a story before every course. The food was good and I loved the Moscatel wine! Absolutely go here.

Was recently here as part of a small group tour with Cruzeiros Douro. We had a wonderful lunch and tour. Wish we could have stayed longer and gone to the shop for wine. Am recommending it to others for a visit, want to return, and maybe stay, if possible.

Visited as part of a River Cruise tour and Oh My God what a fantastic experience!
On arrival we received a delicious glass of chilled moscatel with some local bread and cheeses. Our host Luis ( aka Mr Bean) greeted us enthusiastically... he does everything enthusiastically... We enjoyed the beautiful gardens while sipping the moscatel and for me a chance to have a close look at the vines (it's a wine nerd thing, just seeing how the vines were trained). Luis have us quick tour of the old winery which includes some displays of the traditional wine making techniques used until fairly recently in this area. They still make a small amount of wine this way each year. There are some very old wines being stored here, I won't spoil the it for you, I'll leave Luis to explain. If you want to ask question Luis will happily give the time to answer, his enthusiasm is infectious.
We were then led into the restaurant which is a large hall with breathtaking views of the plateau on which this Quinta sits. A delicious 5 course meal then followed, each course interjected with amusing and sometimes hilarious anecdotes from Luis. Lunch was accompanied with copious amounts of Douro wine and topped off with a shot of local 'grappa'. To finish on a high we then celebrated with a dance from the waiting staff, their energy is amazing, which at the end you join in, great fun and easy to take part even for an older person like me! I can't thank the staff enough who in typical Portuguese style served cheerfully and efficiently as well as entertaining us. You leave on a real high, your spirits lifted and your love of Portugal cemented in your heart. Get there somehow and take part!

The gentleman known unofficially as the Mr. Bean of Portugal has heart and soul in his work. He loves what he does at the winery, having inherited it from his father and grandfather. A total pleasure. Food great. Band still playing as we boarded the bus. Just wonderful. My fav part of the Viking Douro River Cruise. Favaios is a quaint town with a warm and welcoming woman baker, church bells ringing and women still doing their wash in outdoor lavages. Hidden from time, high up on cliffs along the river...unforgettable and found a place in my heart.

We visited here as part of a Douro River cruise. We were greeted with a band (drum and accordion) and a taste of muscatel. We then went into lunch - had a nice meal with various appetizers, then soup, followed by stewed veal, potatoes and veggies and a delicious dessert buffet. The band played and everyone danced and had a great time. Mr. Luis Barros whose family owns the quinta, was a wonderful host, very humorous yet informative. A very enjoyable visit.
