It's on private property....very generous of the owner to allow the public the view. The road is well graded for a dirt road. The cows will wonder why you are there. Respect the land and enjoy the view!

Whoa! I knew these rocks existed, and I always wondered what they would be like to visit. We decided on a trip east on I-70 that they might be worth the time to visit. Boy, were we glad we did! Be prepared for a lot of driving on some desolate, lightly trafficked two-lane roads which eventually turn into hard-packed, sandy... More

Like most reviews, this a place you must see. Yes, its out in the middle of nowhere but it is worth the drive. The formations are awesome and a true work of nature. Everyone should experience them. Unbelievable!

To get to the monument rocks it definitely takes some traveling. My profile pic is of the rocks, so it holds a special place for us. You can get some amazing photos, but don't expect to stay long as there isn't much to do there.

This is a great place to stop & take it all in. There is a lot of history here - great place to teach your children.

Well worth getting off the highway and driving the fifteen miles so unbelievable in Kansas. It is a dirt road to the rocks they are on Private Property and the ask you not to climb on them no need they are a beautiful piece of nature. Today was very windy and the wind played a tune around the rocks.

Be advised this is a little ways off Hwy 83 near Oakley, Kansas. If it has rained or going to rain the road can be treacherous. The dry rocky road will limit your speed and could easily damage a windshield if behind or passing another vehicle. Once you get to the "Chalk Pyramids" you will not be disappointed. Amazing formation... More

I love the Monument Rocks, I would always go there with my family when I was little. Even got a few scrapes climbing them! It really shows what Kansas has in stock for us, even history. Well this is coming from a lady who grew up and lives in Oakley, Kansas.

Wanted to find some cool things in KS, found one!! This is such a neat place!! Worth the drive even for a quick visit. I will say the drive was not bad (had overheard some folks talking about it before we went and the cattle guards must be a new concept to them) we made it just fine in a... More
