Dr. Birger Sandzen is the featured artist with his striking and bold landscapes. The gallery is named after him. There are other artists whose art is rotated through the gallery. A small gallery well worth the effort to see and explore. Friendly staff.

Reminiscent of Fauvism, beautiful landscapes joyously celebrating America's rugged West. Cost of admission? Whatever you choose to donate.

We first stopped at this gallery several months back on our way from Manhattan KS to Oklahoma. We had stopped for Lindsborg and discovered the Sandzén gallery while we were there. This time we stopped again in Lindsborg but because we wanted to revisit the gallery. Any art lover will enjoy this free gallery/museum (donations appreciated) and the art of... More

Excellent small gallery of painting mostly by the gallery's namesake. I loved his views of the Kansas scenes. His style is mostly impressionistic with wide, bold strokes.

This little gallery is close to Bethany college, within walking distance. A great place to enjoy the work of Swedish Artist Birger Sandzen prior to an event at Bethany. They also feature other artists.I am not an artist, but we enjoyed looking at his colorful oil paintings as well as other works in the gallery, The gallery is well maintained... More

The Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery is a fitting tribute to the talented artist that made his home in Lindsborg, Kansas. He was born and educated in Sweden but soon came to America. Though he taught for many years at Bethany College he was always a professional artist. Bold brushwork and bright oil colors make Sandzen's work very distinctive. Most of... More

No photos will prepare you for experiencing the works of Sandzen in person! This is a lovely gallery that wonderfully displays some very large paintings by Sandzen. Not until you stand in front of the vivid colors and bold brush strokes, will you understand how magnificent they are! The gallery is kind of in the "middle of nowhere," which adds... More

Adjacent to the Bethany College campus, the Sandzen Memorial Art Gallery highlights the works of Birger Sandzen along with other prominent artists. Sandzen (1971-1954) was born in Sweden and studied under Anders Zorn. He was a founding member of the Prairie Print Makers. His talents and works are fascinating and the gallery does an excellent job showcasing him.

This little museum shares with the world the talent of the Swedish born artist Birger Sandzen. The museum is well done and, of course, features Sandzen's oils, water colors and lithographs, but also displays other art.
