We first watched a video that presented history of the family tree and the family impact on Emporia as well as the politics (he advised 6 presidents and 5 presidents visited his house). The house contains mostly original furnishings. The Whites had purchased items throughout...More

The tour was $6 per person, lasted about an hour and was worth every cent. I didn't know anything about him, the house or his family. It turns out that he was in fact very important and influential in US and World politics. The story...More

We had been to/thru Emporia many times but had never stopped at Red Rocks. It is an impressive structure and our guide did a fine job informing us about the White family and the structure's history.

We visited Red Rocks SHS on our "state-cation". There is a typewriter in the lobby to document your visit to this historic site. Tours are given!

Downtown Emporia looks much like it did in the 1950's. You need to see this if you have not experienced classic America.

This is a very important part of Emporia's history. Many famous folks have sought William Allen White's counsel regarding world affairs. "Red Rocks" is steeped in things of historical import. If you visit Emporia, this should be on your list of "things to do".
