I was four years old, the first time I went here. I recently took my children there, so they could have the same experience. Same owners, LOVE THEM, and same great service. They love every single one of their customers, no matter where they are from!

A highlight of our east-bound trip. We weren't sure they would be open, because the owners are 93 and 83, respectively, so might want to take a day off. But when we pulled up at 11 a.m., they were just opening. Very charming, and delicious ice cream!

The Wilton Candy Kitchen in Wilton, IA is the oldest candy store/soda fountain in the world. I suspect not much has changed in this soda shop in the last 50 yrs. Fixtures are vintage and walls are covered with memories of the past. Ice cream and sauces are homemade and delicious in an old fashioned way. But the real stars... More

Usually they are open, not always. George tried to retire, but didn't like the retirement life. Stop in there for lunch. Old fashion grilled cheese sandwich, followed by a chocolate ice cream cone!
