Great short walk. Access fro Springs go down Reid's track and follow the sign - return is quite tough, steep and lots of fun. Or go from the Fern Tree Park across from the Tavern (shorter - speccy, lots of ferns). 5/5

From Fern Tree park to Silver Falls is a nice broad path, occassionally shared with kids enjoying some mountain biking.
Silver Falls is worth the walk alone, a grade 1 hike around 30 to 40minutes return

Beautiful short walk from Fern Tree park - in the foothills of Kunanyi (Mt Wellington). Not watching the clock as I walked through the giant ferns on the gentle undulating, well formed earth track - I think it was probably 30-45 minutes return. Delightful small waterfall - with the accompanying sounds and smell of clear, cool mountain water.

We had to hike for a while. We liked that anyway.
We exactly did the Fern Tree to Silver Falls Loop. Once we saw the Silver Falls, I stood still. It was so majestic. There were tropical trees that made the Falls even more gorgeous.
The waterfall was quite high. If I had my swimming suit, I would take a shower under the Falls.
A must see!

Silver Falls waterfall is a 1.7 km walk along the well-kept Pipeline track, a walking track which is signposted and starts from Fern tree park (Fern tree bower) in the centre of Fern tree. It is a place of natural beauty surrounded by ferns and leafy mountain forest covered in moss. A much loved place to walk to for local families and couples.
