Visita veloce a questo castello imponente, un po'trasandato all'esterno, meglio all'interno. Particolari gli affreschi della cappella, unici nel loro genere.

Castello incantevole, la sua storia è assolutamente fascinosa, la visita guidata è eccellente, accurata e ben spiegata, consigliata a tutti, per gli appassionati è una vera meraviglia. Saliceto merita la visita di una intera giornata, visitando anche la sua bella chiesa e tutti i dintorni, si viene proiettati in pieno Medioevo, fantastico, complimenti a tutta la comunità!

situato in un piccolo paese questo Castello e davvero bellissimo sia esternamente che internamente, nel giardino davanti spesso vi si svolgono feste medioevali ed altre attività,consiglio sicuramente di visitarlo!!

Bello, poco noto, vale una visita. Il castello della famiglia Del Carretto è. Solo in parte visitabile. Penso che sia gestito almeno in parte da volontari ed è a mio avviso. Un punto di merito.

Lasciata Mondovì, stavamo vagando in direzione Acqui Terme, prendendo stradine secondarie, attraverso paesini sconosciuti. Ad un certo punto abbiamo visto l'indicazione del Castello di Saliceto e abbiamo deciso di seguirla e di entrare poi, appunto, all'interno del Castello. Lì ci hanno accolto due guide volontarie molto gentili e socievoli che ci hanno proposto una visita guidata, non solo del Castello, ma anche delle Chiese di San Lorenzo e San Martino e dei preziosi affreschi. Abbiamo deciso di aderire e abbiamo fatto molto bene: al di là delle bellezze artistiche, abbiamo potuto venire a conoscenza - grazie alla spiegazione della nostra guida molto competente - degli aspetti esoterici che impregnano Saliceto. Non siamo degli esperti del campo: ci siamo solo limitati a farci avvolgere dal mistero non del tutto esplicito. Non c'è stato il tempo di visitare la Chiesa di San Martino, ma vista la curiosità suscitata e la bellezza incontrata, cercheremo di tornare. Con una maggiore preparazione, visto che il contesto lo richiede, per apprezzare, approfondire e apprendere al meglio. Un grazie all'accoglienza e alla gentilezza degli appassionati volontari, custodi dei luoghi.

Castello medioevale - rinascimentale con all'interno resti dell'antica cappella marchionale di Santa Maria con affreschi di Taddeo di Bartolo, una natività forse di Simone Martini, l'unica al mondo con la Madonna con il libro aperto, e i più antichi attribuiti a maestranze di Federico II di Svevia che il 1° Maggio 1247 probabilmente in questa chiesa sposò la figlia Caterina da Marano con il marchese Giacomo Del Carretto, signore di una marca estesa ininterrottamente dalla riviera di Finale alle vigne del Barolo di Monforte d'Alba. Affreschi fortemente esoterici. Di lato la chiesa parrocchiale di Saliceto, il più bel monumento rinascimentale in Piemonte, in stile toscano, con la facciata scolpita "dalle pietre parlanti" con identiche simbologie del pavimento del duomo di Siena e anche il mais dei Maya che non dovrebbe esservi poiché del XV secolo.

Il castello, con le tre chiese monumenti nazionali, sono aperti alle visite tutte le domeniche pomeriggio da domenica 7 aprile all'ultima domenica di ottobre, esclusa pasqua e le festività infrasettimanali, con due turni di visita (le visite richiedono un minimo di 1:30).
