Not what I expected

My husband and I decided to go to Spook Cave after our Effigy mounds stop. Pull into the camp ground, pay your money [$12.00/person] and wait around 20 minutes to so for the tour... read more

We rented one of the 10 person cabins with our friends....4 adults and 6 kids. The cabin was absolutely beautiful and well kept! Kitchen was fully stocked with pans, bowls and utensils and towels/linens were provided as well. The campgrounds were very clean and well kept as well. The cave tour was fun....not one I would do again unless I... More

This is the third year I have stayed here with my family. We particularly like "The Hut" as a unique cabin. Lots to do in area and a great cave tour filled with fun. We intend to come back some time.

Was thinking this floating tour was going to be in a bigger cavern, not a cave that was intentionally flooded to be different from other cave tours. The guide was knowledgeable in the history of the cave and an ok side invented story to keep people interested in it.Tour was short as the cave isn't that big, but price was... More

My husband and I decided to go to Spook Cave after our Effigy mounds stop. Pull into the camp ground, pay your money [$12.00/person] and wait around 20 minutes to so for the tour to start. There's plenty to look at when you're waiting. Grounds are kept up very well. "all ticket holders" will be blasted on a loud speaker... More

Our family had a blast on this trip! The tour itself lasts around 45 minutes, but it was entertaining as well. Tour guides were very informative and educated in the cave, all while making the trip enjoyable. There are several areas where visitors have to duck in the boats due to the height of the cave, so use caution if... More

It was 90 degrees outside and the the trip through the cave was about 50 degrees so it was a nice cool break in the day. o it aga The cave itself is a marvel. I would gladly do it again and bring friends.

We stayed here for a week with family. We had a great time. Very well taken care of and clean camping facilities. There is train tracks running through the camp ground, but I really didn't notice them much. However some sites were very close to the tracks and might hear the train more. The cave was fun but a very short... More

We stayed in a Woodlands cabin 2 nights in mid-July. It was great and reasonably priced! The cabin slept 6 and included a microwave, small oven/stove, refrigerator, coffeemaker, pots/pans, glasses/cups, silverware, cooking & grilling utensils, firepit, charcoal grill, & picnic table. The porch also had a swing & rocking chair. The campground has a large playground for kids, a waterfall,... More

Camped two nights in tents.....sites were long and narrow. Hard to tell which sites were where; we set everything up and started a fire only to find out we were in the neighboring site and had to move EVERYTHING and start a new fire. Not our fault as another camper had fouled up the order earlier in the day by... More
