The Mines of Spain are ideal for hiking or a leisure stroll through the woods. There are a few small fishing spots and there is also access to the Mississippi. The views from Julien Dubuque’s grave are gorgeous!

Many different trails along with several parking areas give you the choice for a quick walk or one that could last hours. We chose a two mile trail that led up to the Mississippi River and it was challenging at times with the elevation changes...More

This is an unexpectedly large recreation with many trails and roads to walk, run, and bike. It is pretty anytime and is perfect now at leaf time. You can access it just south of Dubuque, it is worth a trip.

My kids and I hiked the horseshoe trail - 3 levels with stairs and amazing views of the river, Dubuque and the bluffs. I believe it was less than a mile. This was our favorite trail due to the views. We also hiked the catfish...More

We were amazed at the number of trails and how beautiful they were. We had a great time exploring and would go back in an instant. The trails are accessed by rode, no entrance fee to the park at all.
