Nice museums, lots of local info

This would be a great place to bring kids, live fish, thoughtful exhibits about how important it is to take care of our water ways.

We were in town for the weekend for a wrestling tournament. We spent about 3.5 hour touring the museum. We watched 2 of the 3D movies. Here is a great note Veteran's and their families get in FREE... We all (Boys) had a good time. Nice place to take a family.

The ladies wanted to go shopping in Galena, and for those that didn't like that activity, this was the perfect diversion. We actually stayed at the museum longer than the shoppers could do their meandering. Great activity with a range of ages.

I had some friends from out of town come to visit and we decided to go here. We thought the museum was interesting. The aquarium part isn't huge. I'm not sure how fun this would be for younger kids. We spent a couple hours there and thought that was plenty.

Nice area of town to make a day of it. Short walk to lunch on a barge. [Barge restaurant closed on mondays] and other attractions. This one is fun, interesting, informative and interactive.

We just did not have enough time to go through both buildings of this amazing gem. The interactive displays throughout the museum were so much fun, we took longer than intended to finish each area. Will definitely go back!

The museum gives a two day pass and one needs two days to fully enjoy the experience. There is a wonderful water ecology program; a 300 lb live allagator; huge live octopus; and an engaging dinosaur display with moving parts:-)

We spent almost the full day enjoying the museum with the full package. The dinosaurs weren't quite what I expected (took only about 20 minutes for two adults to see), but the rest of the museum really made up for it. Don't skip the 4d movies. They're really cool.
