Our 5 year old daughter had fun but the older children seemed a little bored. In general, the activities are attractive but they’re nothing more than any other science museum offers. We were disappointed to find out that IMAX had been closed for two months...More

This is a great place for adults and children to get hands on experience in science. The egg drop was great along with the making of a rocket out of paper and shooting it to see how far it would go. We attended most of...More

We went to the parking garage across the science center to park since that is where the website said to park. It was full, as was every parking area around the area. I guess there is a farmers market on Saturday mornings from 9-12, which...More

We’ve been SCI members for 5 years. With 5 kids, it’s the only way to go. And we love the science center, especially the Bubble Bay and the Rocket Blast. But exhibits don’t change often, so it’s difficult to see how we’ll keep this membership...More

My grandkids had a wonderful time doing and looking at different things. The feeding of the turtles, making paper rockets and gauging distance they could achieve, looking at a giant biosphere, etc. We had a good time at the Imax watching the pandas. This is...More

There are so many things to do that are fun for children of all ages. Even adults can have fun with the displays. This is a great place to go any time of the year. The surround screen movies are great too.

We are members at the science center of Iowa, and joined primarily to get free entrance into museums in other cities such as Chicago and Denver. However we occasionally visit this location to check out the exhibits that change from time to time. The dinosaur...More

We visited the Science Center with our two kids, ages 7 and 8. We planned to be there for about 2 hours. We stayed for 3 hours and would have stayed longer if it wasn't closing time. The fireworks session was a favorite!

I would not eat lunch there, I would walk to the spaghetti works which is about a block away. I figure about two hours per visit, unless you’re adding a movie then maybe three hours.

The cost is $12 for adults, $8 for kids 2-12, and $8 for seniors. There is an additional cost to see the IMAX movies, but we were very busy and entertained by all of the included events, shows, and regular science movies... More

We have spent an entire day there. There are plenty of things to keep you busy there. 3-5 hours would be more than enough time to do the egg drop, play in the water ways, make and shoot your rocket or see one of the live... More
