This is a fun thing to do! Especially is you have an outdoorsy person with you or someone that likes to fish. You can get food to feed the fish and watch then jump in a frenzy.

The Decorah Fish Hatchery is a place where 25 cents buys you 10 dollars of fun. A quarter will buy a handful of food which you can use to feed the trout. It’s a bargain.

We went here and saw the rainbow and brook trout holding tanks. We also got to feed them with the machines of fish food next to the pools.

This is a neat hatchery, with lots of signs posted that allow you to read about the different aspects of raising trout. The scenery is beautiful as well.

We stopped here on our way to visit Siewers springs waterfall. Lots of information about the fish hatchery. Bring a few quarters so you can feed the fish!

When in Decorah, it is well worth one's time to visit the hatchery. It is not actually where the trout are hatched so much as the place where they are kept until they have reached the appropriate size for being "planted" in the rivers of...More

Feed the fish (bring your quarters!), stroll the grounds, watch the famous eagles in their nest - in season. The fish hatchery is a great place to visit for people of all ages, but, IMHO, especially great to visit when with young kids who squeal...More
