This is a piece of history that goes back to the French and Indian Wars. Lots of big old trees, some trails, and a great view of the river and how things used to be.

Nice little statuary, good turn-around spot for our ride biking the quad cities. Probably a mile or two loop to cover the whole island.

Kind of weird yet interesting little park. There were some neat concrete statues, and I was able to touch the Mississippi River here, which I loved.

It looks like it needs TLC, the golf course was knee deep in weeds. It has flooded several times so far. The golf course could be used for muddin in trucks or atv's. It would be nice for a camp ground but the ground is...More

Although it was still winter it was a warm day so we decided to check this island out. I was pretty unimpressed. I wanted to see those statues but a local told me that they took them out. The kids did like playing on the...More

The city has done some heavy duty clearing of dead trees, cutting down trees, and clearing brush at the entrance and causeway lately. WOW! It looks 1000% times better entering the park. I bet by summer some grass will fill in the mud and look...More

March 12th was the ribbon cutting opening ceremony. There are still some exterior minor projects to complete as the weather warms including some painting and landscaping. I would think pictures would be available on line if... More
