I stopped by the museum while I was in town. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. I especially enjoyed finding a copy of the letter written to my great-grandfather Wm P Ellis when he was mayor; the letter documented the negotiations between the city and the railroad that eventually established the railroad yards in Washington. Interesting items about Washington and Daviess County plus many exhibits. Helps to sponser other county events and helps with county wide events for the public. Vince Sellers is a knowledgeable person who adds much information to the visit.

Awesome place to visit; and @ only $2 a person for a guided tour, it's also a super deal. Perfect place for a family activity. They are open 12 to 5 Tuesday through Saturday.

I'll say right off that this is not your standard museum with marble floors and velvet ropes to keep you away from the carefully curated displays, and it's not in a marble edifice that bears the name of a nationally known donor and a world-class architect.
