Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This a place full of history and many, many displays. The numerous volunteers have many stories to share and generously give of their time.

Thank you for your feedback. It certainly does have a lot of history and we are grateful for our volunteer base, the place wouldn't be the same place without them.

We had a good morning at the Woolshed complex. We had brunch at the cafe- the breakfast sundae and the pancakes. Service was very efficient, and the food was tasty. I'd highly recommend the sundae.
I had already downloaded the Woolshed's audio tour onto my phone, so after brunch we used that to explore some of the buildings using that as a guide. The segments were short and interesting, telling stories of families, and pointing out features of buildings we would have otherwise missed. The blacksmith and the Boundary Riders Hut were my favourites.
Overall, we spent an enjoyable hour and a half at Jondaryan, could have stayed longer, but we still had a distance to drive.

What a lovely review, thank you. The pancakes are tasty and the audio tour is full of information. Next time you are in the area you may have more time available to spend exploring.

We expected it to be busy as we arrived for the Easter Festival, however there was still plenty of room to camp (un-powered) on nice level ground. With two fairly young children this turned out to be an excellent choice, as even though it rained on and off across the long weekend, there was plenty to do and none of us had a chance to be bored. There were back to back events - mostly for the kids but also for the adults until late in the evening. There are limited showers and toilets but they were kept spotlessly clean given it was quite muddy. I would thoroughly recommend it - real value for money.

We visited on the Friday of the Chinchilla Watermelon Festival. It was deserted so we wandered around with our map and the signs as our only guide. It is a large place so it took us 2 hours to stroll around. Each building is nicely presented with plentiful artifacts from the era. Wool shed itself has fleas. Modern Cafe was a pleasant surprise, petting zoo was basic but animals were friendly. It would have been nice to have had a tour or for something to have been active (e.g. Blacksmithing). Nice idea but being dependent on volunteers means that a midweek visit is not the same experience as a weekend visit.

Love the rustic charm of the shearers quarters and the cookhouse, simple but effective accommodation and cooking facilities. The cabins down the end are good, clean and recently renovated with own bathrooms - great for couples or those with a young family. I stayed in my tent on an unpowered site but there are powered ones too for vans. The new ablutions block is a gem and the coin operated laundry onsite was a life saver. The actual woolshed complex is beautifully maintained and the shed itself is a site to behold. A definite 5 stars.

Absolutely Great. Stayed 2 nights....I am an old Bank Johnny and my mate worked (in 1975 ) in the Westpac Oakey building that is onsite....I worked in Banking for 20 years and this is the BEST from the past,,....simply amazing. The actual Woolshed plus the other buildings are also amazing and historic. I camped in my Van and more than comfortable....will return

Don't bother just dropping in on your travels, group bookings in advance apparently we found as we arrived at gate and then no one in reception unless you call a mobile number. Just a tad disappointed but moved on and found other delights elsewhere

Met up with Sue the functions coordinator as I was looking for somewhere to have my 50th Birthday. What a fabulous place, Sue showed around and we chatted about menus etc. We've booked the Woolshed for my birthday in July and can't wait. Even my friends are looking forward to weekend away.

We had not been EVER and going by family member's experiences were really looking forward to our trip here. So disappointed. No working exhibits on a long weekend. When I asked why - I was told the volunteers don't work on Sundays (ummm it's a long weekend, surely they would be there). None of the wonderful items on display look as if they have been cared for and some sheds were locked and inaccessible. Nearly asked for my money back. Please get your act together because this could be such a huge attraction for the area. We spent about an hour and a half here, but could easily have stayed longer had we been able to see all the exhibits. Function (wedding) was taking precedence to the tourists. Nothing seemed to be really organised and just put all over the place even to the extent that lovingly restored items (which had been Government funded) were not looked after. So so disappointed. We love history and have seen some fabulous museums and historical places but to see the machinery and heritage going to rack and ruin is just devastating.

We do have site by the creek but they are all non powered sites, you are welcome to bring a generator if you wish. The sites done by the creek do not have plumbed water but there is water available near the amenities.
Our museum is open daily - containing our animal nursery and large variety of historical buildings. We will be having activities over the holiday period on particular days, we have not yet confirmed our schedule - If you can contact us via phone (07) 4692 2229 and we will be able to keep you up to date when schedule the schedule is confirmed.
Thank you very much,
