Overview
More
Nicknamed the "Little Smokies" because of the area's resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains, Brown County encompasses nearly 16,000 acres of rugged hills, ridges and fog-shrouded ravines. Glaciers from the most recent ice ages stopped short of the "hills o' Brown," but their meltwaters helped create the narrow ridges, steep slopes and deep gullies of Brown County State Park. Indiana's largest park is a traditional fall color hot spot, with nearly 20 miles of tree-lined roads and many scenic vistas overlooking miles of uninterrupted forestland.

Spent the afternoon wandering around. Nice and relaxing after it stopped drizzling on us. Fond memories of childhood and my children's childhood visits. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

If you haven't been here yet, you should definitely go. This part of the state is so different from what you see from Indy and the north. The rolling hillsides, ample forests and abundant wildlife make a trip to BCSP a must for anyone who...More

Fun to explore. Hike and sight see. Great views. Fun playgrounds for kids! My family enjoyed our time here. Oh they have horses too! We will be back hopfully soon. Would be amazing in the fall to see the leaves!

Let me start off by saying I’m new to camping. Recently purchased a camper and took our first long trip (3.5 hrs) to Brown County and couldn’t have been more pleased. It is less than 10 minutes to the campsite from the gate. We stayed...More

Well marked. Well maintained. Gorgeous. Very enjoyable drive. Nature Center interesting and has bathrooms. One of the best parks we've been in. Lodge is nice and food is good there. Senior discount if you need a park pass.

This park is amazing!! We are already planning on returning in the fall. The trees were bare, and it was still beautiful! Be sure to walk the trail around the lake! So many fun spots!

Spent a very enjoyable day hiking. The weather was crisp and clear, the trails were well-marked, and the DNR personable and knowledgeable. The birds were plentiful and happy with the Spring-like day. There weren’t many visitors at the park until after lunchtime.
