A tour through or along the canal is a great way to learn about swedish history from 1868 and into the 20th century. You are also right in the middle of the amazing swedish nature.

Dalslands Kanal is surely one of the cosiest waterway experienses there is. History, Fresh water, Kid friendy, fun. Nice to go by ferry, but even better to go by own boat!

This is a spectacular canal series of locks. A good glass works and nearby restaurant. All conveniently located alongside the canal.

The ultimate way to travel throug an ulitimately beautiful part of Swedish nature, with small towns and clever solutions to engineering problems. The Canal is also an interesting part of the industrial history of this region.
