History is important. We like that Indiana is maintaining Metamora and the Metamora Grist Mill. Our Autumn Road Trip is a must for those who enjoy fall colors.

Stopped by on a Saturday it was reasonably crowded which was surprising. It is still operational so you can see how cornmeal was made 100 years ago. It is a well preserved piece of history.

This is an Amish Town and is a very friendly place to go and visit. Love the old buildings and the people you come across

Like that one can go to the drive room in the basement and see how the axle that comes in from the water wheel transfers power to machinery

We bought some corn meal and the kids enjoyed seeing the grinding meal and water wheel. The staff was helpful with things around the town.

It was nice to see a working grist mill and workers were very nice and friendly. Bought a bag of the freshly ground corn meal.

Metamora does not look to be a thriving town and the mill is no different. Its happiest days seem to be behind it. It has a small souvenir shop with optional donation box and you can see the wheel downstairs.

I've been visiting this grist mill for 35 years or so. When my kids were young it was an exciting place to visit, and the mill wheel ran often. Now it seems tired and needs refurbished. The walkway that crosses over the mill run must...More
