We love caves. We love tours. We love history. We love… well, let’s just say we are sweaty people, and we love the 365 days of 52 degrees in a cave! And, we got ALL of those things and more during our tour at Wyandotte! After 8 years, it was open to the public again, to be mesmerized by the... More

we did both of the tours here the half hour little cave and the tour hour tour, we did them on two separate days and booked them ahead of time to assure we had a spot. the half tour has plenty of formations and was interesting. the tours are provided by the DNR. The two hour two was much different... More

Great little cave, great for a first time visit, 45 minutes that will not leave you bankrupt! Tour guides are great and with this weather the cave is cool! My Grand kids loved the adventure!

We were so excited when the Indiana DNR announced that Wyandotte Caves would be reopening to public tours. Last weekend, we escaped the heat and humidity of a Southern Indiana July by heading underground. Our family (kids aged 9 and 10) did the Big Cave tour. This tour is described as "rugged". It is 2 hours in duration and 1.6... More

22 deep slippery limestone steps down, no elevators, to the middle floor. We went through the caves with an educated, prepared guide. She was very informed to show the cave and point out the sights. It was a very informative view of Indiana's cave. Our guide shared information as to how this large cave was found.

We popped by on 2 April whilst driving cross country. The caves are/remain closed due to White Nose Syndrome, with no notice posted for reopening. I uploaded photos of the closure signs and exterior property. The drive to the caves along Hwy 66 (Ohio River Scenic Bypass) has stunning views.

I have done both tours at Wyandotte Cave Recreation Area. Dripping water creates formations (stalactites, stalagmites, flow stone, etc.), so the tour of the smaller, "wet" cave—though short—is interesting! However, my preference is for the "Monument Mountain tour" through the larger cave. I have taken this tour at least 8 different times, and I've never gotten tired of seeing it... More

We visited the Wyandotte Caves during Memorial Day weekend of 2008. The Wyandotte Caves are located in Wyandotte State Park but the caves are not run by the state anymore. The tours have been farmed out to a private concessionaire that also runs the Marengo Cave in Marengo, Indiana (about thirty minutes north). They offer two cave tours in two... More
