This museum is easy to navigate with escalators located at the entrance. Volunteers may also help you may your way though the 4-stories that encapsulate the building. The art collection is varied with works from across the globe and even includes portraits of some famous Hoosiers. One visit may not allow you enough time to look at the various attractions.... Beautiful place, really good collection, important artists, interesting things to do, definitely a good spot to feed our soul. And.. for "the fault in our starts" it's really close to "funky bones" art. Deserves a special visit.

I live in Indy and this is a great place to wander the grounds or visit the museum itself. Fantastic gift shop with one of a kind items to purchase

The IMA is truly a treasure in Indianapolis and a must stop. If you don't have time for the art museum and collection, stop by and walk the grounds. Its a beautiful setting that also houses the Virginia Fairbanks Art & Nature Park or the Lilly house and goldfields garden.

Full of fabulous works and beautiful landscapes. This is a great place to spend a few hours in peaceful harmony with art. There are a few interactive exhibits for kids and the hundred acres is perfect to run off some energy and explore. The downside with kids is many of the exhibits are not kid friendly, be prepared to be... More

A very well curated museum. Find atleast 3 hours to visit. Best would be to come and have lunch at their cafe and continue till the evening.

Seriously, I've observed over many years that the "second echelon" cities often do not fall behind the widely recognized megapolises in terms of art presentation - and here's just one of such examples. The building itself is full of light and air and pleasant to be in. The collection of art - from classics to contemporary to consumer design -... More

We took the $20 version of this visit and the extra $10 was not really worth it in my mind. For the extra you get a 20 minute drive around the track in a bus with a stop at the one yard of bricks left from the old days. The museum itself is OK with some very nice old cars,... More

used to be free and now it's keeping out the riff raff (i.e. artists) i grew up in this museum and loved to see them rotate their extensive collection.
