Gene Stratton Porter was an amazing woman, and the interpreters at Limberlost State Historical Site are preserving her story. My son and I loved touring the home while learning about one of Indiana's most remarkable women (author, naturalist, photographer).

Randy was our knowledgeable tour guide. He was a wealth of information, and ran this facility for 18 years. Had no idea of the deep Gene Stratton Porter roots, in little old Geneva. Newer welcome center is a great addition to this attraction. $5 admission...More

Mrs. Porter would have been proud of the way her home and her life's work is being promoted in Geneva IN. Very interesting guided tour. Original artifacts from Mrs. Porter. Lovely grounds. Worth the drive to see it.

I pledged this year to commemorate Indiana's bicentennial with a series of road trips to significant historical sites in the state. I've long been a fan of Gene Stratton Porter's work as novelist and naturalist. It was indeed a treat to visit her Geneva, IN...More

1 of only 11 Indiana State Historical Sites. (I had no idea there were just 11!) This one is very well maintained, and staffed with friendly folks, that know their stuff. The grounds are beautiful, and the welcome center is a nice addition, since we...More
