From a replica of a real French chateau to a working loom one could hold in the palm of one's hand, the Museum of Miniature Houses features a vast collection of exquisite miniature houses, vignettes and artisan pieces. "I had no idea anything like this existed!" is a phrase often heard from newcomers, who marvel at the intricacy involved in creating objects on such a small scale. Children and teens love doing the treasure hunts and the little ones get to play with a real dollhouse. In addition to a permanent collection, the Museum has rotating exhibits that change frequently. If you are a miniaturist yourself you can visit our well-stocked shop (no admission fee necessary for shoppers.) Touring the Museum of Miniature Houses is a truly unique experience, one which the whole family can enjoy.

I rate museums in miles - how far is it worth going to see. If you are into miniatures, it is easily a 50 mile museum. If you are not, it is still about a 15 mile museum. (It is only about 8 miles of...More

We appreciate your review and your understanding that miniatures are an art form in themselves, full of creativity and craftsmanship, and not simply "child's play."

Our two oldest granddaughters were on spring break and we needed to keep them occupied. So, we took them to see this great museum in Carmel. They were fascinated with the tiny people, dogs, cats and miniature houses. Congrats to these volunteers for offering this...More

Great place to take in all kinds of teeny "eye candy"! Lovely lady running museum and exhibits are varied and plentiful. Made me pull out my doll house items upon my return home! Great visit for young ladies who like to dream!

I thought it was really neat and fun to look at how detailed the work is! The amount of time people have put into making the mini objects is crazy!

We stumbled upon this gem and what a find! My spouse is more of a miniature person than I am yet I found the hour we spent here delightful. The detail on some of the items in the houses is amazing. The seven dwarfs crocheted...More

Expect to spend an hour oohing and ahhing and chuckling at the tiny surprising details in the houses and single rooms: the dog's bone left on the rug or the handprints on the towels . Even my 2 boys enjoyed looking for fun unexpected but...More

Only four such museums in the whole USA, definitely worth a visit. See a century of craftsmanship by American men and women in creating scale models of historic homes. Kids are welcome and get a treasure hunt sheet of paper. One boy and his father...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Do you accept donations? I have a collection of miniature furniture, approximately 19 rooms which my aunt started collecting in 1939. It is 1" to 1 foot scale. I am looking for a permanent home for my collection which is housed in a special cabinet which I had built . It is a beautiful collection and I would love to find a new home for it before the Lord calls me home, and someplace where others, especially will enjoy it. It is in excellent condition. If you accept donations, do you come and pick it up and transport t. I am unable to do that but would gladly help you to pack it. I have pieces from all over the world. i.e. Mexico, India, Paris.
