We stopped here on our way into Bloomington and were so glad that we did. The statues and structures were beautiful, and the grounds were incredibly peaceful. We walked the entire stretch, although you are more than able to drive it. The interior of the...More

I had learned of the connection with Bloomington and the Dali Lama and wanted to see the location. What a beautiful place with all the prayer flags flying!! We stopped in the gift shop first and the staff was very helpful. We then went to...More

This was an impulse stop on our day trip through the Hoosier National Forrest. It's a beautiful, contemplative retreat area. We were just tourists on a drive by and they were very nice. There's a great little gift shop. There are a number of Buddhist...More

poor communication, beautiful grounds. It's too bad that the website and feedback were not up to date. this would have been a wonderful opportunity for cultural education.

What a treasure to find. As soon as you pass through the gates, serenity seems to take hold. A great place for reflection and meditation. Walk the paths or simply sit on one of the benches. A great place to get away from it all.

Not being familiar with Buddhism, I found the statuary and temple fascinating. It is in a woodland setting which they have done a nice job of preserving. Everyone was nice and helpful. Did not walk around the grounds much because it was a miserably hot...More

This is such a sacred and peaceful place to visit and just feel so at one with yourself or your religious feelings. I learned a lot about the culture through the signs that were placed at each site. The colors of the artwork and the...More

Dropped off son at IU. Very beautiful tranquil surroundings. Maps are available, btw. Gift shop run by volunteers. Note on door offered to call off not door locked. I was tempted, but didn't want to intrude on their work.

The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. We went on a Friday morning and saw only two people. Given the lack of people/staff we got the feeling we were trespassing and left about an hour after arriving. This may be worthwhile if you have prior knowledge...More

This Tibetan Temple is exquisite. I've been to one other Temple like this in Florida and they're always breathtaking. A man told us some about the inside of the Temple building but the rest my friend and I hiked alone. However it was a wonderful...More

I am not sure. We were there in the fall. I am sure you can google them and see their hours. I got the impression they were open year round since it is kind of like a park.

The gift shop/store is open at 8:00 a.m. and closes around 6:00 p.m. You can visit anytime and even go into the temple after those hours. If there are no activities in the temple, it will close sometime after 6:00.
