I spend about 20 hours a week on the path running and cycling. It's well maintained (for the most part) and offers peace & quiet amidst the crazy suburban life.

I've enjoyed the Prairie Path for 30 years on foot and bicycle, both alone and with my family. Great place to teach your children to ride, as well as for personal exercise in cool shade, through quaint towns & forest preserves, and along lovely rivers.

26 miles of pristine road to use. Tree lined for shade. Crushed stone surface. Many places to stop along the way. Not too crowed. Patrolled by police. Very safe.

For my family and me, the Prairie Path is one of the very best things about living in Wheaton. Beautiful to get out into nature, to bike or walk it, all year long.
