Don't think about visiting Iceland and not going! Sulfoss and the geysers and Kerid were extraordinary!! Tip- the first 'big' geyser does not erupt. Tip 2- pay the $4 to walk the kerid crater on top and bottom. Put your feet in the icy water!...More

July, 2017. Prior to one week circumnavigation of Iceland on a Windstar cruise, our agent set us up with Nine Worlds, a somewhat "high end" service for airport transfer, half day tour of Reykjavik, followed by a full day tour of the Golden Circle. Our...More

We were fortunate to spend about two weeks in Iceland, including the beautiful "Golden Circle" with its natural wonders...waterfalls, geysers, hot springs, valleys, streams and rivers, vistas, and yes, changeable climate. Plan for 4 seasons in an afternoon! If you can only visit one area...More

You should definately do the Golden circle when visiting Iceland. Do not miss the waterfall Gullfoss and the Geysir. I would recommend that you rent a car rather than going on a tour bus. Less hassle, cheaper, and you get to see more inn less...More

We rented a car and drove the route after getting guidance from our hotel. It is very easy to do. We first visited Pingvellir national park to see the platonic plates. Kind of u underwhelming. The Geysir was amazing and there was a restaurant you...More

I did the 8 hour tour which takes you to Kehrid, Geysir, Gulfoss and Thingvellir National Park. You get to see a lot. Really glad I did the 8 hour as many tourists only do 6 hours which takes you to same spots minus Kehrid...More

We hired a private driver and left before the cruise ships arrived in Reykjvak. We stopped at Alafoss Wool factory then saw Thingvellir National Park, Laugarvatn, Geysir thermal area, plus Waterfall Gullfoss - as well as Seljalandsfoss and Skógarfoss. Each natural wonder is more beautiful...More

This is a must when visiting the area. So much to see and view. Restaurant on premises but can be crowded at times. A picnic lunch would be perfect to have on the grounds while you enjoy the surroundings.

No way. Need a boot, perhaps a hiking with waterproofing and a warm, wicking sock. Perhaps a spare in case you get wet. You have to be ready for cold, wind, and rain at any time. It's slippery too.

Iceland is generally not a warm place, however not always freezing if that makes sense. When the sun is out and the wind is not blowing it's lovely but other than that you will need to wrap up warm, especially against the... More
