To get to this place you need to hike, or cross some rough rivers on the highlands roads. It is very very worth it. There you have a restaurant (summer) and you can stay camping or rent a bed In the main building. Beautiful views and colors.

Absolutely beautiful lake with camping area and huts

This spot is along the Laugavegur Trail, but you can also get here in the summer along Route F210. This is one of the most beautiful spots along the trail and a great place to spends some quiet time while enjoying some incredible vistas. I'd love to return here.
