We perform checks on reviews.
Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went here as part of a city tour of Axum. Basically, this is a rain fed basin which could have been used by the Queen of Sheba. Religious connotation for purification purposes. Slightly polluted. This is a myth and not worth going. Some local kids use it as a pool, however unsure about water quality.

Doubt that Queen of Sheba went near this, but you never know. Now used for swimming and animals and pretty dirty.

It’s a quick stop but worth checking out. The bath is like a pond with a nice hill behind it. Locals seem to wash clothes there now.

....for the stories they like to tell about Sheba. If you're not going with a guide who can tell you those stories, you don't need to go because the picture right here on tripadvisor shows you everything there is to see.

I'm not sure why it's thought to be the Queen of Sheba's bath. Seems there is little historical evidence for anything related to her. Who knows.

Drove past and didn't realise this was the pool. We stopped and looked from the van. Large pool with dirty water. Locals use the pool for washing water. Also where Timket takes place in Aksum.

This is a very large bath mostly, when we passed by, being used by local boys. The water is every bit as murky as the photos show and you won't likely want to try it out. Driving by was enough for us and we had the explanation by the archaeologist who accompanied us on our trip.

They have updated it and it does not look like a swimming hole in the country. The picture shown is deceiving. I would NOT miss it though, it's history. Use your imagination, but it is just a passing point on the road. You do not have to get out. Muddy. Not spring fed. Depends on the mountain runoff. Best thing is a restaurant at the top of the hill there with a view, a restroom, and cold soda. Friendly employees.

It's a big bath, nothing more. You'll walk past it after the stelae. I wouldn't swim here but locals do.
