Our second visit…..we liked our first, loved our second. They have improved the way the the cheese tasting is done, which we enjoyed more. They have made some reno’s which make the place even better……and their cheese is great. Special shout out to Teagan who was Uber helpful and friendly

    Cheese time!
Great venue with some amazing food and cheeses. The staff were friendly and happy to assist with any questions. Cheese tasting was a great way to work through the types of cheese individuals like and would like to purchase. This is very affordable and a bit of fun with family and friends.

    Do the cheese tasting
Cheese tasting is a great idea, they only charge $3 or $5 with crackers. 12 taste cubes, enough to get the idea and cheap enough for everyone. U can buy 6/8 prepacked cheese samplers. Little cafe there with homemade soup and other things to buy, relishes,juices...

A usual stop off for us when in the area. Tasty cheese. Loved the brass monkey blue. Shame they don’t appear to not do tastings any more.

We came because we are serious cheese hounds. We had the tasting plate off 13 cheeses and 3 relishes or jams for $6 each. We worked out way through a range of cheeses and in the end I bought two (a chilli veined one and a young but complex flavoured cheese called Nova. Their Feta was a stand out too. So were a number of others. Their dark veined blue, was almost black veined and was very strong. One for the haters (or lovers like me) of pungent cheeses.
The lad had a salami (also local, I believe) and three cheese (of his choice) toasted sandwich. He chose the Turkish bread. It was a dollar extra for that. But the whole experience was good with dripping melted cheese on a large toastie. He wolfed it down having not joined us in eating a pie earlier this morning.
The cafe does lovely lunches. They'll do a picnic basket for your tours of local wineries (of which there are a great many). The food on site is yum and the place is quirky and fun.
Highly recommend a (tiny) detour off the New England Highway just north of Stanthorpe. Turn left at the big apple, over the railway tracks, left and quick right. It's just down the road.
Interesting area, full of place names from first world war battles. A soldier settler area that has made good with fruit trees, vines now, milk and wool. Having just been in Stanthorpe, I am also aware there was a much earlier tin mining industry and the whole granite belt area has gems in the rivers if you are prepared to look.
The cheese factory is recommended for a lunch or snack on your way and a block of cheese for your travels. Go here.

Turning at the 'Big Apple' a short country drive away from the highway, we were warmly greeted by the cheesemaker and staff. Popular cheese factory and café. We enjoyed the cheese tastings, the staff quite helpful after we explained we don't eat blue cheese. Able to accommodate us in a custom taste test. Cheese and a small selection of local jams/honeys to accompany the main fare. Selected our preferred styles from the chilled cheese display. Great local cheese and nice setting.

Got to try the tasting platter, it was so yummy. The staff were really knowledgeable and friendly. The kids all had milkshakes & toasties. Great stop for the whole family.

We were greeted by a friendly young man at the counter who took our order. Individual samples provided on labelled placemats.
Eat inside if you don’t like sharing with the flies!

A late afternoon drop in a on Saturday and it was very quiet. We bought the three pack cheese taster and were disappointed with the rubbery results.
