Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The castle is situated in the middle of the area called "De Veluwe". This area has many great spots to walk, this is one of them. The castle is well maintained throughout the years and has a good restaurant next to it. If I am not mistaken it is not possible to visit the castle itself, so you will have to do it with the beautiful surroundings. There are several paths with different lengthes, indicated with an colour. Good place to enjoy the nature, with some luck you come across deers.

Beautiful park with houses, water mill, visitors centre, brassiere. It’s surprisingly a little town. Lovely nature.

This was a revelation to my family and I. It is not big. In fact is it the smallest town you'll find in the Netherlands, but the grounds and the surroundings are just lovely. Nice to bike in and or take a walk. There is a clean toilet near the visitors centre and lots of free parking space.

Walk the grounds of this beautiful old former residence. There is a lot to see and the gardens are great. Nature in the direct surroundings is forest, and nice for a walk. Restaurant is rather expensive, entrance to the estate-gardens is free.

parking in the weekends can be a problem. Pre-set-Walking routes in the surroundings start at the parking lot.

Staverden Estate is owned by the Geldersch Landschap en Kastelen organization and consists of a large forest area with walking paths and the Staverden House with associated gardens. The walking area is very beautiful.. the House Staverden is nice to see. The house is also called Staverden Castle, but that is a bit of an exaggeration. The current country house was built in the early 20th century. It has a number of outbuildings, including an elongated coach house, an orangery, porter's house and water mill. The current Huis Staverden is the fourth building at this location. Around 1290, the Gelderland Count Reinald I had a hunting lodge and outbuildings built on this site. That's where the term castle comes from. After the late 13th century hunting lodge fell into disrepair, two other country houses were built here, before the current House Staverden was built, built around 1912. Beautiful water feature in front of the house, which shows two stepped gables. On the rear facade with entrance is a typical early 20th century conservatory. Nice country house, nice park, beautiful walking area in the adjacent woods.

This is a beautiful estate. The gardens are beautifully landscaped and maintained. A visit to this estate is definitely worth it.
