Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

this place resembles the arizona red rocks but nestled in a green valley with river flowing.
you will first see the broken-heart rock, then drive a little further along, you will see the seven bulls rocks behind your right shoulder. the best vantage point for seven bulls rocks is the panoramic path
42.337295728589076, 78.2382781151211 , which can be reached by either a hike or drive up
if you have time, you can continue on to Valley of Flowers (Kok Jayik). no 4x4 is needed. but personally, i think Arabel Pass off Barskoon is better

Stopped to view rocks and have a walk round the area. The rock formations are interesting and the river nearby picturesque. The area seemed very run down though with nothing open, maybe it was the end of the season. Worth a short walk though.

This is nice place, but compared with other nice places in Kyrgyzstan it cannot be rated high :)
It is worth going there, actually stopping there, if this is on your way, but going there on purpose... one can be disappointed. The rocks look good but not great.
The impression is better when this is the first thing you see, but when you are coming back from mountains, you may not even stop
I do recognize that there may be a lot of people disagreeing with me, especially those who have been travelling along Issyk Kul, but please believe, the beauty of Kyrgyzstan is somewhere else.

I've read somewhere that this is not worth it if you went to Arashan or similar. Wrong. This is a completely different scenery. Tip: when you get out of your transport, climb right up above the small settlement. There is a plateau with a family living in the yurt having the place for themselves. Great views and hiking opportunities, there.

A beautiful place to visit any time of the year. We visited after a good snowfall and the mountains and river was truly breath taking, we walked along the road following the river. The snow was about 30cm deep and a little hard work.
A taxi from Karakol should cost 600som each way. Our driver chose to wait for us and only charged 600 each way.
Take a camera and picnic and enjoy the scenery any time of the year.

We were lucky to visit this beautiful valley with first snow this year. Was sunny day, all under snow and still easy to walk. Worth to visit the waterfall, and then to continue deeper to the valley to see Boris Yeltzin peak (Oguz Bashi) 5168 m high mountain in the end of the valley. Everywhere you can meet horses, cows or sheeps, which making the picture even more interesting for photography. Wonderful autumn colors, white snow and sun - we had amazing one day trip!

We visited the seven bulls of Jeti Ogüz with public transport at the end of September - there were no mashrutka’s anymore until the Jeti Ogüz resort (where the rock formations are), only until Jeti Ogüz town - from there you can take a shared taxi. Or just take a shared taxi from the Bazaar in Karakol - we got a private taxi return trip for 800 som (seems like there is a fixed price of 200 som/person per ride, the driver waits for an hour which is enough to see the formation and take a short walk).
The rocks are really beautiful, but can’t give tips about the hike in the flower valley.

If your visiting Karakol, then Zheti-Oguz is a must stop. One day is pretty much enough for a standard program, but if you want to see everything, a couple days would be fine. There's also a 1-1,5-hour away 40m-high waterfall called 'Girl plaits' (you'll understand why) worth visiting. Definitely going again.

Just under 20miles southwest of Karakol lies the Jeti-Oguz gorge. This is ideal for a day’s walking, or shorter trip. A river runs alongside the road, and near the entrance to the gorge is a large red-brown cliff, the formation of which is known as the Seven Bulls (the translation of Jeti-Oguz.) the first view of these cliffs presents another outline, which is known as the Broken Heart. The gorge extends to a resort at over 7000feet.
