This unique minimalist weekend retreat designed by Mies van der Rohe was an inspiration for Philip Johnson's Glass House. If you are interested in architecture, it is a must-see for visitors to Chicago. The Chicago Architecture Center offers a 3 1/2-hour bus tour periodically.
