I've been to the refuge on several occasions; fall is the best when they sometimes open the restricted areas and allow you to tour the area; fall through spring is great for watching the wildlife.

Summer or Winter evenings are the best time to travel through the Refuge. Wildlife really starts to come out, birds are getting ready to nest for the night and the area is often less crowded.
