Do not go on the vineyard tour. They charged for a "tour" that consisted of the owner of the winery rambling for 30 minutes (or less?) and then abruptly walking back into the house for the tasting. We walked to a group of vines that were visible from the parking lot and never ventured more than another 20 feet. The... More

We did a groupon which I would not recommend, it was for a Tour, Seminar and Tasting. It certainly sounds good but I assure you it wasnt. The tour consisted of a walk down to the grapevines and a 25-35 minute lecture on variety and why his grapes and growing process is superior. It actually sounded pretty good..but wait. The... More

My wife and I toured this vineyard on a recent Saturday afternoon. This winery is run by a nice family who loves what they do. Valentino Vineyards & Winery produces twenty different types of wine and has twenty-five different varieties of grapes that are grown on their twenty acre Estate Vineyard. This is a great experience for those who have... More

A quality vineyard in Long Grove? Who would have thought that possible. But the wines are really quiet good. And the setting is really attractive. Can't make it out to Napa? This is a good fill in.

The best part about this vineyard was Rudolph Valentino DiTommaso -the owner. He does know a lot about wines and explains everything very nicely. But the wines are fair, very sweet compared to most and seemed to taste all the same after a while. They have kind of an awkward set up, you walk into a house while others are... More

This small vineyard in Long Grove, IL is owned by Rudolph Valentino DiTommaso who is very passionate about his craft as viticulturist and vintner. Known to his friends as Rudy, he will teach you more about grapes and wines during the tour, tasting seminar than any other tasting we ever attended. His wines are not inexpensive but after knowing what... More

Valentino Vineyards is odd at best. If you are looking for good quality and good tasting wine, this place is not for you. Rudi the host is also rather "unique", he is very engaging, but not always in a professional way. You almost get the sense that Rudi makes more money on his "tour" business rather then on his wine........ More

We went to Valentino for a fun thing to do on a summer weekend and it fit the bill. As my husband is an oenophile we certainly weren't expecting much from an Illinois wine. I am happy to report that they were better than expected. We made our reservation ahead of time (a must - different than any wine region... More

My sisters an I all enjoyed this winery. We are local and went on a Friday night. The weather was beautiful so we actually went out to the vineyards and learned about the whole grape growing and wine making process. The wine tasting was really good as these are better wines, not the ones you see on every shelf in... More
