Good for ski beginners

The Four Lakes Ski area is good for your first ski experience - you don't have to travel far to find out what its all about.

This place is ok, it gets insanely crowded on Saturdays during the day. Best time to go is after 4. Not a bad hill, they do have a park but I wouldn't recommend going till mid January( the terrain park is best then because there is more snow)

Hi Joe, thanks for the review. We try to do what we can with what Mother Nature gives us! That being said, we are always striving to update snowmaking equipment and snowmaking capabilities. We hope that the next time you come out you get the 5 star treatment that we strive to give to all of our customers! -Chris Buehler... More

We live 10 mins away and had never been here and that's a shame. Our kids were skiing for the first time and took to it like fish to water after lessons. The bar next to the rental shop js great pizza and good beer. We will be back even though today was the last day of the 2016 season.

There is not much to add. Illinois is not know for its mountains but if you want a small quaint place to learn and spend a partial day, it's great. My grandson took a lesson from Scott who helped him master the basics. The joy in his eyes was worth it. And he had never been before so all he... More

Only rope tows here but a great starter place for kids to learn to ski and/or snowboard. They have a nice warming area, restaurant, and rentals available including helmets.

Only tow rope lifts here; they get really tiring after a few runs. There is VERY poor control of the skiiers here. Sure, there's rules but they aren't enforced at all. I got kicked in the back of the head by someone being reckless and I almost got knocked over several other times. I got a great deal going here... More

Parents are not allowed to enter the area. They had no one at the tow rope to assist any small child. The mentality is buy a lesson or buy a ticket if you want to help your child. My daughter came back crying with one ski on and one ski off. I didn't know if she was hurt and this... More

First, I am not a skier. Second, I am looking forward to getting better and going again. I would def recommend coming here and I will be coming back next year at least once. My son, 12, learned quickly from Dallas and he and I had a great afternoon together. Thanks! Glad I found this spot.

The bottom of the hill is fenced off to anyone without a ticket, I found out the hard way, that my 6 year old kids had to fend for themselves on the rope tow. When I asked the gentleman checking the tickets at the gate check if I can help my kids learn how to use the rope tow, he... More

My wife and I used to live in Four Lakes. Their skiing area is fine for the extreme beginner or for somebody who doesn't want to drive north four hours. There are always lots of kids in the snow boarding area. If you go through the park district in Naperville you get (4) one-hour group lessons plus ski and boot... More
