Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have always made a point of taking every visitor to the state to the Honey Shop at Chudleigh but was so disappointed the other day when I yet again took a visitor The shop was handing out story books with every $50 sale I have bought these story books for all my grandchildren great nieces etc. I love them. The man before did not want a book My friend made purchases then I made a purchase of $49. 90 or $49.95 and she said I did not qualify for the book. It said of but my grandchildren love your books and my friends have just purchased. That would be well over $50. She just dismissed me with a supercilious look. I thought oh how petty I will not be so keen to rush back with every visitor next time. A smile and a ten cent leeway would not have hurt and would have gone a long way

Love this place . You can do all the honey tasting - all sorts of fruit honey , flower honey etc . The shops also sells all things related to honey , eg aprons , crockery , souvenirs etc . The leatherwood honey ice cream was very good . A double cone costs $7.50.
Parking is by the side of the shop . No toilets here though . Toilets are located opposite about 50 m away .

I did not want to leave. Such a gorgeous person that shop owner is. She was so inviting and open, making me feel right at home. Over 30 different flavours of Honey and all amazing. I did not get to taste the ice cream which looked very delicious and is well know. 30 Tastes of honey was enough sugar for me ☺️. Definitely going back. Prices are very respectable as well

Great to have a free tasting as so many places charge a fee now. Some wonderful flavours, also with the ice cream. Many informative signs. Decorated in such a cute way. Friendly and helpful service. Lots of products to purchase.

Interesting shop with an endless array of bee and honey themed goods. There is practically something for everyone in this store! The free honey tasting is a lovely touch and my children found this really interesting. The display at the back and opportunity to see into a working hive is worth taking some time to look at. My husband found it so fascinating we had to drag him away!

There is lots of different types of delicious honey to try, nougat to sample, skin care products to test and heaps of interesting info to read. The ice cream is also great, I had the ginger and it was amazing, lots o great gift ideas all bee and honey based, staff friendly and welcoming, plenty of parking and all this in a delightful little town.
Not sure they are open on Saturdays though.

They had about 50 honey types and 1 nougat to sample. Kids could also see a beehive behind glass and play inside an interactive beehive. We bought an ice cream for $5 which was nice. You cannot taste test the ice cream flavours

Stopped here on our way back from a wildlife park (Trowunna) just for a quick look in. Staff were super friendly and welcoming, showed us the huuugge range of honey that we sampled a lot of and then viewed the glass fronted hive. The nougat was really yummy too and left with a lovely locally sourced lip balm

I witnessed tourists being spoken to in such a rude way today. My husband and I could not believe our ears when the younger lady scooping ice cream verbally and racially abused a tourist in front of everyone. This proves that money is the only importance or then again maybe not because you just lost 2 more local customers. Roberts honey up the road is the best honey in Tasmania anyway and there's no racial abuse there! You'll be stung like a bee if you walk through melitas door!

After filling my basket up with $90 worth of products, I was ready to leave the basket on the checkout and walk out after the rude owner insisted my little boy not try and nougat, several times. So much for the "free honey & nougat tasting". Try the less glamourised Roberts Honey in mole creek for genuine customer service... Who do it for the love not money.
