You'll never forget your first sight of Blickling. Sitting in a magnificent garden and park is a breath-taking mansion, flanked by ancient yew hedges. Past owners have used the estate as a refuge while performing on the world's political stage. Philip Kerr, the last private owner, helped shaped the National Trust's history, using his influence to find a way of saving great country houses for future generations to enjoy. Until his death in 1940 he used the house for entertaining his prominent guests; and photographs, sounds and objects help to tell his story. Outside, the formal garden is the result of three centuries of inspired planting, and the gently undulating historic parkland is great for exploring.

Great for an historic nose about. Lovely setting. Immense county garden, but Felbrigg Hall, nearby, has a better floral array.

So much emphasis is on the wonderful Felbrigg Estate that I feel this WONDERFUL HISTORIC ESTATE OF BLICKLING seems to lurk in the shadows of Felbrigg. For me this is one of the best places I have visited for quite a while and I felt so much at home here .I find it difficult to explain the draw for me... More

This is a wonderful place to see bluebells in the woods. They did not disappoint. Blickling Hall and Estate are beautiful. We spent many hours wandering the gardens. The interior of the hall is interesting - the guide being very knowledgeable. The manager was extremely helpful in fixing a problem that we encountered. All in all a great experience.

As a NT member and volunteer I was keen to take my mother (90) and two small dogs (on leads) to visit the gardens at Blickling. Obstacle one - no dogs allowed in the grounds (apart from assistance dogs) Obstacle two - gravel on the long approach to the gardens and insufficient signage to indicate alternative access for wheelchair users.... Large historical house with free flow visiting. Purports to be the birthplace of Ann Boleyn as the property was owned by her parents around the time of her birth. Lovely gardens and walks around the estate.

Stunning house and the gardens are not to be missed. Wonderful parterre, and formal borders but also lots of parkland. Cafes were however in complete disarray, caused no doubt by a sunny day. No ice cream available in the two cafes by the house.

We’re glad you enjoyed visiting the house and gardens. Sorry to hear about the lack of ice-cream – that is a very unusual event! More

Lovely place well preserved and presented by the National Trust. Formal gardens beautiful and a huge informal park surrounds the property. Long walks in great settings possible.
