Traditional cinema with a small refreshments and tickets stand and a plush velvet feel. Film stops in the middle for an interval complete with ice cream seller! Great experience overall.

Having wrote previously about the Penistone Paramount there is very little more I can say. This is a truly wonderful old time cinema hall with huge amounts of character. Think it's been here around 125 years. What I find incredibly quaint is that when you...More

I live close by to the Penistone Paramount and it really is a hidden gem. Entering the cinema is like stepping back in time! You can sit upstairs or downstairs - I always select upstairs! The seats are red plush velvet and it really does...More

This is by far my favourite cinema! Its brilliant inside a lovely traditional feel. There is a bar selling all kinds of drinks and they still have an interval midway through the film... you can get icecream and drinks. Much better than the modern overpriced...More

We love, love, love having this fabulous venue nearby. To save queuing you can call at the box office to buy tickets beforehand or buy on the night. Snacks, popcorn and pop are available from the kiosk. Whilst ordering your drinks before the film, buy...More

Went here recently to a Comedy Club evening. The venue is a lovely traditional cinema venue with none of the over hyped Odeon type bling! Very clean with it's own bar and plenty of staff on hand if you can't match a seat number to...More

Love this place. Top films with an intermission, an ice cream lady, a bar (and you can take your drink into the auditorium), and all in a relaxed art deco cinema. Definitely not your chain Odeon!

Came to see I, Daniel Blake on a Saturday night. £6.50 entry, yay! The film was deeply touching and I bawled my eyes out. The theatre is traditional and old in style but very well kept and in good condition. The Penistone Paramount is legendary...More

Not sure if you had your question answered but I know of young families who do come. Especially for family films. There is an intermission too.

Both Circle and stalls are good. Benefits of the stalls is that's next to the bar! Don't forget there an intermission.
