The park has picnic areas, and benches as well as a pond (drained during the winter). It is adjacent to a dog beach, boat launch, and beach. Walking distance from the NW Campus and downtown Evanston.

What could be better than a park on Lake Michigan's shore? Most sunny mornings in Evanston find me walking or biking on the edge of this lovely city park complete with Harrington lagoon, small island for ducks to inhabit and steps away from the pier...More

Just a great lakeside place to visit for swimming, boating, concerts, picnicking, staging a visit to the Northwestern Campus immediately adjacent to the North, and taking in views of Downtown Chicago to the South.

Can't say it is serene location based on the auto traffic. But certainly a nice spot to view the passer bys and lake

Just across Sheridan Road from the Evanston History Center this lovely park is a great place to relax and unwind. Or take a walk. Or just enjoy the view of the Center and the lake and the sounds of lapping waves. No hustle bustle here.

What could be better?! It's a very nice park with 2 very decent bathroom facilities not far from each other and a snack bar that stays open late. The city offers all sorts of events at Dawes - art fairs and movies are my favorites.
