Getting up inside of this lighthouse has been on my bucket list for years! Today, it was sadly closed, so it remains in my bucket. Still, I appreciated the grounds and the unoccupied house next door.

Nothing really to see. The area is very run down. We were very disappointed. Not sure the reason for the condition but could be a cool place to visit.

Very accessible light house right off the road. Landscaping is beautifully maintained by the local garden club, and worth the visit even you have no interest in lighthouses. Have done the trip up to the top in a previous visit, and like all lighthouses it...More

The lighthouse is worth stopping and looking at. You park in a large parking area and can walk down to the beach to enjoy the lake. It's also by a small park.

We were in Chicago for several days. One day was spent at the lake and the park around Grosse point lighthouse. We love lake Michigan and we love going to lighthouses. So, this was the "almost" the best of both worlds. It is a wonderful...More

The lighthouse is at the end of one of my many walking circuits in Evanston. I have lived here almost 20 years and have yet to go up. I don't even know if it is open to the public for that! Nice to look at...More

Unfortunately, we went on a day the lighthouse wasn't open. That didn't deter us from wandering around the beautiful and historic grounds. It was kind of sad. The lighthouse sits on land that was given to a helpful native American and his heirs into perpetuity,...More

Yes, there is $5 fee when we visited. It's only open on Sat./Sun. 2-3-4pm. The lighthouse cannot take more than 6 people up there. I am not sure it is still open after September, you need you call to ask. But you can always... More
