Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have to pay to get in and you look around for 5 minutes before you’ve seen everything.
Must wear respectable clothing and be prepared to get asked about whether you are menstruating 😐

It is an almost massive stone complex for the local religion. During the days before Hari Njepi it is frequently visites for ceremonies. Hundreds of people come here. It is close to the beach.

I was fortunate to see a melasti ceremony at Masceti Beach while nearby at Komune. Extraordinary, very spiritual and if you get the chance to go then don't miss it.

You pay 50k to an unmotivated guy at the entry. No welcome no smile not interested in his culture probably. 60% of the temple is closed off for "worshippers only". What you can see is a joke and to even ask entry fee a disgrace.

Apparently this is the least well known & the least visited of Bali's nine directional temples. Even our local driver had not visited it.
First on entering the temple, one person asked us to wear a sarong. We clarified that if we could see the inside of the temple while wearing a sarong and on being answered in the affirmative we walked to our car which was parked at a distance to avoid coconuts from the tree falling on it. When we returned wearing the sarongs, another person came running and said we couldn't go inside and the first man was nowhere to be seen.
You have take a little detour to reach here and it was quite a dampner on not being allowed to see the inside.
Not worth the trip.

Pura Masceti is located in Keramas is located on the east coast of Bali, 15 km from Sanur. (not located in Seminyak/ Kerobokan !!) Pura Masceti is one of the 9 guiding temples in Bali. The temple is close to the black beach. This abandoned temple, is very little visited. Curious why, we visited this temple anyway. True, there were no other visitors, just a few priests. The architecture and sculptures very nice.
