One thing that amazes me about Chicago is all of the green space, and this park is an example. This park walks you along the lake with great views of the city on both sides. One side has a great view of the navy pier as well. This is just down the street from the pier, so it's easy to... More

We were on our way to Navy Pier (entering from the underground tunnel off Ohio St.) and noticed this park along the water. We decided to check it out and were so glad we did. The views of the city were awesome! Made for very pretty pictures with beautiful blue Lake Michigan in the forefront. It's definitely worth checking out,... More

This is a little suprise park near one of the biggest areas of Chicago - Navy Pier. It is on a point and gives one of the most spectacular views of the Chicago skyline. It is a Memorial Park to Milton Lee Olive who was a Medial of Honor recipient. When we were there it was a cold day. Lots... More

This little slip of natural Lake Michigan beach at the base of Lake Point Tower, offers a spectacular view of the skyline of East Streetervile without floating in the Lake.

I'm baffled as to how this place has a rating below 5 stars. If I could, I would give it 10! When I think of a park, I think of a pretty large wooded area; however, Milton Lee Olive Park is pretty much a strip along the water to the left of the Navy Pier craziness. Even though small, it... More

We just happened upon this little park as we were heading to Navy Pier. Compared to the bustle of many other well-known parks and attractions, this was a quiet peaceful spot. There is a nice walkway and we saw several people walking their dogs. Down below is a small sandy beach. It wasn't swimming weather, but there were people enjoying... More

We chose this beach because of its' proximity to Navy pier. We went early- maybe 8 am and there was hardly anyone there- just a few people with dogs (this was a Saturday). It was a nice beach with kids because it was smaller and easy to keep an eye on our kids. This was the only beach we went... More

This park is in every aspect a counterpoint to the citylife just a stone throw away. Wide, open, green, deserted, silent, contemplative. Great view of the skyline. If you need a timeout of the city, come here.

Staying in Streeterville

Neighbourhood Profile
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
